Updates to Puma Speed 600 S Ignite

  • Located in the dual-layer midsole is an Engineered Stability Zone, which provides maximum support. From its name, its main purpose is for stabilization, preventing the inward rolling of an overpronator’s foot while running.
  • The midsole also features Puma’s proprietary foam called Ignite. This creation was designed to offer long-lasting performance, providing impact dispersion and extra durability. The underfoot experience is heightened through its blend of soft yet responsive cushioning.
  • Another designated zone on this shoe is called the Propulsion Zone. It is found in the forefoot section of the outsole. What it does is add a bit more propulsion during the toe-off phase of the running gait to generate more speed and energy for the runner to utilize.
  • On the upper of the Puma Speed 600 S Ignite is the EverFit+ which locks the foot in place. Aside from providing a secure fit, it also makes the runner feel that the snugness of the upper has been customized.

The Puma Speed 600 S Ignite has a standard running shoe length. Runners can order their usual size preferences. The same goes for the width. It is available in B and D medium for women and men, respectively.

Outsole

The EverTrack+ rubber material is an injected blown rubber that covers the perimeter of the outsole’s forefoot and heel areas. It’s designed to withstand the abrasive surface of the road, making sure that early signs of wear and tear are avoided. Separated into sections by flex lines and grooves, this rubber technology also aims to provide a springier run because of its soft and responsive nature.

The forefoot Propulsion Zone helps to propel the foot forward. The force it provides is not significant, but through this structure, runners gain an extra push forward, thus making the take-off phase more efficient.

Midsole

The midsole is made up of Puma’s revolutionary Ignite foam. The three main benefits it delivers are comfort, durability, and energy return. Its specific blend allows it to last long while also dispersing impact and supplying a high rebound capacity for efficiency in performance.

To control the inward motion of overpronators, a Stability Zone was incorporated. This zone was worked into the midsole to provide maximum support to the foot.

Inside, the molded EcoOrtholite sock liner can be found. It serves as an extra layer of cushioning that delivers not only comfort but also anti-microbial properties for a clean and healthy in-shoe environment.

Upper

The construction of the upper is bootie-like. It’s a one-piece knitted mesh that’s seamless, breathable and supportive. This material supplies ventilation to the interior of the shoe. Its elastic properties ensure that the natural curves and contours of the foot are accommodated. The combination of all of these structures delivers a fit that’s snug and customized.

The tongue and collar were padded with a material that’s breathable and comfortable. The lining is soft enough to prevent irritation to the dorsum of the foot and the ankle.

Locking everything down is the Everfit+, which is incorporated into the lace-up closure. This technology by Puma secures the midfoot and heel in place without inhibiting natural movement. It also makes way for the swelling of the foot during long-distance runs. So, the technology isn’t just for security, but also for adaptability.
